New Round of Innovative Teacher Grants Available for Local Classrooms

The Turning Foundation is announcing a new round of Innovative Teacher Mini-Grants for 2013. The foundation is seeking applications from classroom teachers in a four county area (Ashtabula, Columbiana, Trumbull and Mahoning Counties) targeting innovative and creative practices focused on developing 21st Century Classrooms. Through a competitive grant process, teachers either as individuals or teams, will be given the opportunity to apply for up to $1,500 per project to support efforts to integrate technologies in innovative and creative ways in K-12 classrooms. Selection priorities in the application process include projects that:
• Connect creative and innovative practice to student achievement and school improvement
• Develop partnerships between schools and/or classrooms, and/or between classrooms and business/industry and community partners
• Develop creative and innovative practices that can be shared with and potentially replicated by other local teachers and schools
